Let’s talk about negotiating a lower interest rate on your credit card as a way of saving hundreds or thousands of dollars. This strategy applies to people who carry a credit card balance. Negotiating a lower interest rate, which will also help you pay off your debt more quickly and cheaply. All you do is call up your credit card company and politely ask them to lower your Did you know that you can pay for parking that’s part of your work commute on a pretax basis? I used to do this myself when I worked at ABC News in the Washington DC bureau. According to Wageworks, the dominant company that administers this federal program, you can get this benefit if you pay to park at or near work OR if you park somewhere remote, like a metro Americans spend 15-billion dollars a year on mattresses.
